The United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC) is one of three regional centres of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA). It has established itself as a dynamic centre specialised in disarmament, conventional arms and in the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. There are two main programmatic areas: conventional arms control programme; and non-proliferation instruments programme through which all assistance is carried out.
